FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Purpose: 

Perform all activities relating to the company collection of receivables, invoicing, solving unallocated cash problems, reconciliations of accounts from various commercial businesses, including:

Job Functions:

  1. Collecting on accounts by assessing facts and developing solutions to obtain payment.  Create reconciliations, payment plans when needed and process for approval.
  2. Review aging report and contact  by phone, email and other means, all customers on a regular basis to ensure collections of all monies due within terms
  3. Resolve customer account issues, including investigating and resolving questions about unapplied cash (cash which cannot be identified to specific invoices) on customer accounts
  4. Review and research customer lease data as needed, using combination of paper files and digital library
  5. Prepare default letters and disconnect requests with proper approval
  6. Prepare weekly and monthly reports on outstanding account balances.  Meet monthly with Supervisor for research and resolution of issues
  7. Document the status of customer account information by updating notes and maintaining follow up dates
  8. Assist with various collection related special projects and reporting as requested
  9. Improve and maintain past due aging and unallocated percentages of receivables and meet targeted goals

Working Conditions and Physical Demands: 

Working in an office environment (company facilities), or as required.  

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 2 year college degree; preferably in business or other related field
  2. 3 years of business-to-business collections experience, preferably in related industry such as leasing, real estate or telecommunications
  3. Prior experience using Dynamic GP (Great Plains) or similar accounting system
  4. Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  6. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  7. Demonstrated mastery of balancing multiple tasks and other project management skills
  8. Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and also as part of a team
