FLSA Status: Exempt

Purpose: 

Provide comprehensive real estate, leasing, development, contracting, litigation, corporate and related legal services to internal clients and serve as a liaison with local / external counsel and the management team in furtherance of the development, operation and acquisition of telecommunications real estate in various Central and South American Countries.

Job Functions:

  1. Negotiate, draft and translate lease agreements for communication tower space
  2. Negotiate, draft and translate rooftop telecom lease and management documents
  3. Real estate & asset purchase documents-drafting, review and translation
  4. Real estate development documents-drafting, review and translation
  5. Ground lease documents and amendments-drafting, review and translation
  6. Negotiate and draft operational contracts / amendments-drafting, review and translation
  7. Prepare/arrange recordable real estate interest documents-liaison with local counsel
  8. Local corporate governance & filings, internal asset transfers
  9. Regulatory and statutory compliance assurance - International/Domestic
  10. Negotiating with landlords, sellers, owners and other lawyers.
  11. Title report review and cures on acquisition & development sites
  12. Title company production interaction/problem solving
  13. Manage litigation
  14. Provide support to senior legal officer

Working Conditions and Physical Demands: 
Working in an office environment (company facilities), or as required.   Job will involve minimal travel.

Qualifications:

  1. Requires a BA and JD & must possess a current, active license to practice law
  2. Requires fluency in Spanish
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the areas of real estate, corporate and international transactions
  4. Excellent drafting, translation and communication skills
  5. Proficient in computer software applications including Microsoft Office Word / Excel
  6. Requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work cooperatively, quickly, independently and as part of a team.
  7. High level of productivity and commitment are a must
